About Us
Who We Are
EJR was founded by a wrongfully convicted firefighter who turned pain into purpose. After being racially profiled and sentenced for a crime he didn’t commit, our founder fought for justice and exposed corruption that led to over 1200 overturned cases in Virginia. With firsthand experience of a broken system, he became a certified paralegal, a public speaker, and a fierce advocate for justice reform.
EJR stands for Empowerment, Justice, and Reentry—because that’s what we believe every person deserves.
Our work isn’t just professional—it’s personal. We know what it feels like to be failed by the system. That’s why we’re committed to giving people the tools they need to fight back, represent themselves, and take control of their futures.

A Personal Story:
From Prison to
Purpose
“While I was behind bars, I became my own lawyer. I studied the law, filed motions, and uncovered evidence that eventually helped set me free. But I wasn’t the only one in there fighting for a fair chance. I promised God that if I made it out, I’d help others do the same. EJR is that promise kept.”
